You Feel and Act How You Think

James R. Yarbrough This design contest means a great deal to me. It is one the ways that I am expressing my love for all things Otis. When I was an Airman and a much younger man I was stationed at Andrews Air Force Base, yes the presidential base. It was during the anti-war protest and the height of the civil rights era that Otis’ music helped quell some of the anger I had swelling inside of me. Vote for my design at: http://creativeallies.com/ Otis is a Virgo and so am I, his name is Otis Ray and mine is James Ray. I feel destiny is the reason I was drawn to Otis. TREES
by: Joyce Kilmer (1886-1918)
THINK that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.
A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the earth’s sweet flowing breast;
A tree that looks at God all day, And lifts her leafy arms to pray;
A tree that may in Summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;
Upon whose bosom snow has lain; Who intimately lives with rain.
Poems are made by fools like me, But only God can make a tree.

They are The Woods no longer. Man has taken from nature once more. There are now houses where trees once stood. They have been felled, scaled and debarked. Then to take on their shiny new look, they are edged, trimmed, dried and planed. And finally, shipped back to where they once came. To be nailed, papered and painted for ranch style homes. We have done it again. The creatures and lovers have moved on. The price we pay to expand.
